Angry Blackmen announce Fall USA and Europe Tour 2024

Earlier this year, ANGRY BLACKMEN — the Chicago industrial hip-hop outfit of Quentin Branch and Brian Warren —  released their new album, The Legend of ABM, via Deathbomb Arc. The album was met with acclaim from the likes of Bandcamp, who stated “Angry Blackmen’s industrial raps thrive on urgency,” and Brooklyn Vegan, who named it one of the “5 Best Rap Albums of January 2024.” In their review, Treble proclaimed The Legend of ABM as “an important addition to a growing hip-hop canon.” Today, after an initial run of dates overseas, including performances at Roadburn Festival and Sharpe Festival, Angry Blackmen are announcing their first US tour in support of The Legend of ABM. Following the duo’s biggest hometown show to date at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago this week, ANGRY BLACKMEN will be performing in Oakland, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, New York, and more. They’ll return to Europe later this year for shows at Munkehagen Festival and Le Guess Who?.

Branch and Warren have been stretching their arms and tapping into different sounds since 2014, with Warren eventually suggesting they join forces as a duo towards the end of 2016. The Legend of ABM—the duo’s third release for Deathbomb Arc—leaves no second wasted. The 11-track adventure, which features guest appearances from Fatboi Sharif, Nordra, Skech185, and Abbie From Mars, is a 30-minute coming of age narrative centered around Black men navigating this wilderness known as North America. The record jumps straight to the point, utilizing catchy wordplay and spine-splitting production to present an expression of hip-hop not heard or seen before. It is their strongest work to date, but it’s no excursion for the weak. The two emcees provide a passionate yet introspective look at the world-at-large, their raw, pathos-infused poetry educating the listener of the pre-apocalyptic world we’re already living in. The Legend of ABM is relatable to anyone simply trying to survive.
